Purpose Point is a community-based maternal equity center dedicated to promoting postpartum health for BIPOC women with a special interest in native black women. In conjunction with existing perinatal programs, we initiate individualized care through in-office, in-home, and online support. Connect with us today, we're here to help!

Who We Serve



  • Self-Identifies as Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color (BIPOC)

  • women seeking preconception education

  • 36 weeks or less pregnant

  • postpartum women of newborn or infant.


BIPOC women are identified as one of the most vulnerable populations in the U.S. Healthcare System, especially Native Black Women. On average, 1 in 3 BIPOC women has experienced an adverse perinatal or postpartum experience, which is directly linked to birth outcomes.  

What We Do

We seek improve perinatal and postpartum experiences and bridge educational gaps for BIPOC women in the communities we serve through:

  • Postpartum Education through in-office, in-home, or online individualized sessions. 

  • Social Support through group engagement, 1:1 counseling, and workshops.

  • Rapid Referral to community-based resources that address the social determinants of health. 

Why it Works

Our staff and mentors provide long-term relationships and expanded social support for the lived experience. ​Our clients are able to:

  • Learn about preconception, perinatal, or postpartum health and wellness

  • Develop relationships with other pregnant BIPOC women.

  • Learn goal-setting and stress management techniques

  • Support personal health-promoting behaviors during and after pregnancy.
